With the presence of the consul and her assistant, we spoke about the issues facing the Algerian community and the consulate. In particular, we discussed the idea of how to make the administration closer to its national citizens and how the British Algerian Association can work with the consulate to provide support in reaching out and serving better the Algerian community in UK.
As we would like to thank HE ambassador for his kindness to accept our request to see him but due to traffic problem we could not do so. But he instructed his assistant to wait for us which he did and and we are thankful for. We had discussion on how the ambassador and the embassy can get closer to the Algerian community by raising awareness and exploring opportunities such as cultural, social and economical within Algeria.
We discussed an invitation to our future events especially the ones to celebrate the remembrance of the 8th May 1945 massacre day (73rd anniversary), the independence day 5th July 1962 (56th anniversary), the 1st November 1954 day (64th anniversary of the Algerian revolution) and other social events.
