AIR ALGERIE: Sudden strike disrupts air flights in Algeria

Air Algérie flight attendants staged a sudden strike on Monday, causing disruption to domestic and international flights, according to the national airline.

In a statement, Air Algérie said the strike has disrupted a number of domestic and international flights, but without giving further details.

A source with the airline’s workers union blamed the company’s failure to fulfill pledges of pay raise for Monday’s strike.

“The administration has refused to engage with the employees regarding the pledges the company made two years ago,” the source said.

Last month, a brief strike had disrupted a number of flights at several airports in the country.
